I love this needle set! I was tired of having to always pick up a needle I didn’t have to do projects so I decided to invest in a set. Now I don’t have to guess if I have the size needed or wait until I can go buy yet another needle so I can do a project.
The needle tips are so smooth my knitting seems to fly on the needles, but they are not so slippery that you don’t have good stitch control. The cords are just the right combination of flexibility and rigidity for me. The key lock system for tightening the cords in place on the needle tips is easy, forms a smooth join and securely keeps the tips from unscrewing while knitting. It does come with a storage case as well which, although it’s clear plastic, it’s not just another zip lock bag. It’s a nice clear, flexible plastic with a nice zipper as well…not just a flimsy, cheapy zipper either.
I absolutely plan to purchase Knitter’s Pride needles again…not because I have to, but because I want to. I plan to purchase the “special” set, which has shorter needle tips and 16″ cords. That’s the only thing I can see that this set is missing so once I have those, there will be nothing to keep me from any project I want to do. Well, except time.
Love these Knitter’s Pride needles. Always been happy with this brand. Connection go the wires stays secure with knitting use.
The needle tips and cable are very nice, but I have two issues. Some of the needle tips do not screw in completely, leaving a sizable gap where the screw threads are exposed between the needle and the cable, allowing yarn to catch at the join. Also, the storage case does not hold the needle tips in place, allowing them to slide out of place, all akimbo. So then I have to sort them all again. Grrr!
Update: The needle tips are now screwing securely into the cable connections. Initially a small burr or something like that must have been interfering with a tight connection. Now the needles work like a dream. I still think the case is badly designed and have pitched it, and that is why this product does not qualify for a 5 star rating from me. I now keep these needles in the case with my ChiaoGoo Twist Red Lace interchangeable needles. I love those needles too!!
After receiving my needles I could not wait to put them to good use. I loved the feel of them. I love the pointed tips that made it easy for me to get through the stitch. And strangely I love the sound they make when crossing both needles. However, I did not receive the correct wire sizes that were stated in the details of the product. And if I wanted to make a beanie it wasn’t too comfortable as I had to try and maneuver the wire and thread just so. I supposed these would be used more for flat knitting or bigger work as the needles are long. Like the other comments the needles kept unscrewing while I was working. I have not tried it yet but maybe if I were to use the rubber thumb covers used for paper, I’d be able to tighten them better. I really do love these though so I wasn’t about to send them back for the cons.
I love using Knitter’s Pride interchangeable needles for all my knitting projects. The connecting site is very smooth and does not snag your yarn and the needles are a delight to knit with. The cord between the needles does not twist while knitting which I found very irritating with other circular needles. Knitter’s Pride products will be my favorite knitting items in the future.
Omg Love!! I was considering a HiyaHiya set, but it’s much more expensive so I decided to try the Nova Platinas because I already have the Dreamz set with the cords and connectors.
The Nova Platina’s are almost as pointy as the Nova Sharps, and a hair more pointed than the Dreams.
I am so happy I have these two sets, they are perfect for me because they do almost everything I want. I did purchase a size down set of Platina interchangeable needles (US 2.5 or 3) as an add-on, and got the US 0, 1.5 and 2 circular HiyaHiya Sharps for tiny stitch work because the joins won’t unscrew accidentally. If my Dreams or Nova Platinas unscrew accidentally, the yarn is large enough that it doesn’t get caught, and I just use the key to re-tighten it, and it’s fine. If I use the key right it does not unscrew at all.
Mostly these Nova Platinas are perfect for me for smooth circular knitting that I want to be fast, and I use the Dreamz for slower knitting that I don’t want to slide off the needles. Plus the case is handy and portable, I keep all of my cable needles and stitch markers etc in my Dreamz case, and my cords and cord markers in the Platina case. Oh, I do also recommend an additional 40″ cord 😉

I do Love Knitter`s Pride Nova Platina Interchangeable.. Knitting is easy with these needles. its slide of smoothly.. but one things have to be careful with the connecting area, its loosen from time to time.. i have no problems with that, because i always give attention with it.
Since receiving these, I’ve switched from using straight needles to almost exclusively these interchangeable circulars. They are smooth, easy to attach, and I enjoy knitting with them. I have one side of a set of needles that doesn’t seem to stay tight. I knit long shawls–no accidents yet caused by lost stitches–but I do periodically check both needles, especially if I feel that particular one start to snag or grab at the yarn. I know that I’ll be using these needles for many years…..
